damp and cool on my tongue
trapping the longing
but saddened among the burying leaves
and after these snowy anticipations arrive
the beauty of autumn ceases to exist
and now winter dreams are alive
dark and stars are the sky
cold as the rain
but warmed by the waves of the northern lights
the reds and the greens dancing
in slow undulations above
the calm of the sky for a while was replaced
by the curtains of colours and light
supported by 4 fans who also own “alive as ice can freeze”
On first listen I immediately felt a feverish familiarity, a spacey, frayed-wire connection to that dreamy echo of an angsty youth. I imagined Eno singing over Kilbey arrangements, and the dark embrace I always got from most anything on the 4AD label... from 80s Cocteau Twins and Bauhaus to Red House Painters and Lush in the 90s... really the entire cast of wonderfully introspective bands spawned during those decades. Wrenching, drifting... insistent, compelling. And deeply moving. Marvelous! Dr. "Buzz" Frenzy (Matthew J Hesse)

The latest from sean thornton explores dark themes, but they’re handled with a delicate grace in these beautiful bedroom pop songs. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 25, 2022
A lo-fi single from the New York musician Sean Thornton threads a ghostly melodica over far-off vocals to absorbing effect. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 13, 2020
